In a recent CTE event at EMCC's Communiversity, local teachers, directors, and career coaches received an introduction to cobots and autonomous mobile robots. In this train-the-trainer workshop participants were able to immerse themselves in the latest advancements in advanced manufacturing through hands-on programming activities involving collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots and vision systems.

As part of the Advancements in Manufacturing Upskilling Program (AiM UP), Mississippi State University's Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems Extension (CAVS-E), CAVS/Athlete Engineering and the Advanced Composites Institute (ACI) partnered with The Communiversity at EMCC to address the growing industry demand for employees skilled in both existing and emerging technologies. This partnership provides advanced manufacturing training for the technical workforce and develops educational tools to support the educational efforts of local community colleges and career & technical programs design. Ultimately, this new initiative will assist in upskilling the educational and workforce communities around the state.
