Congratulations to CAVS-E's Associate Director, Billy Peacock, who was awarded a Gulf Region Intelligent Transportation Society (GRITS) scholarship in the amount of $1,000. This is the 7th year that an MSU student has won a scholarship from GRITS, including CAVS-E employees Tonya McCall and Emily Wall, and former CAVS-E employee Jenna Johnson.

GRITS is a professional organization, with a membership of a thousand representatives across Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. Student memberships provide networking opportunities with Mississippi DOT, Louisiana DOTD, Alabama DOT, and other organizations within the intelligent transportation community. Steve Puryear, also of CAVS-E, is a GRITS Board Member, Chair of the Membership Committee, and a member of the Scholarship Committee.
