As a part of the company's ongoing commitment to maximize and sustain their business success, Yokohama Tire employees are participating in the Six Sigma course offered by CAVS Extension. The most recent session was held at EMCC's Communiversity, an educational training facility designed to facilitate learning and skills development in a collaborative setting. Six Sigma can be applied to almost any industry and is a highly disciplined process that helps companies focus on continuously improving business processes by reducing defects and error and minimizing variation, which, in turn, improves quality and efficiency.

Six Sigma certification is designated by a "Belt" title reflecting the participant's experience level and depth of study. Both Green Belt and Black Belt courses are available through CAVS-E, where instructors are focused on teaching participants a data-driven methodology and set of techniques for improving business processes by reducing the cost of quality, increasing process efficiency, and establishing a foundation for continuous improvement.
