Bringing together one of the fastest growing industries in Mississippi, more than 750 people attended the 2023 Innovation Conference held April 12th and 13th at the Nissan North America Plant in Canton, MS. This year marked the 10th Innovation Conference, with a spotlight on emerging Industry 4.0 technologies. Industry 4.0 is the fourth industrial revolution that focuses on data and connectivity, automation, and real-time data to make smart factories more of a reality. The conference included 49 exhibitors from the U.S. and Canada that showcased the latest technologies for improving quality and productivity within the manufacturing industry and provided information and demonstrations on assembly equipment, tools, sensors, collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, virtual reality, and machine learning applications. Highlights of the Demonstration Area showcased products from JLC Robotics, Nikon Metrology, and DeepHow that illustrated innovative uses of technology.
Mississippi State University's Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems - Extension (CAVS-E) and the Nissan North America - Canton Plant coordinated this annual event. Exhibitor sponsors included Nikon Metrology, RAISE3D, and Atlas Copco. Conference sponsors included the Mississippi Automotive Manufacturer's Association (MAMA), Mississippi Development Authority, and the Mississippi Manufacturers Association-Mississippi Extension Partnership (MMA-MEP). MAMA kicked off the event with a Meet & Greet networking event for exhibitors on April 11th in the Hesdorffer Building on the Historic Square, Canton, MS.
